Crush women take second, men 17th at Northern California Championships
MARYSVILLE – Led by three gold medals from sophomore Rhiannon Walker, the Clovis Community College women's track & field team totaled 81 points to finish in second place out of 21 teams at the 2025 Northern California Regional Championships. The two-day event wrapped up on Saturday and was hosted by Butte College.
Walker continued her dominance on the track, taking first place in the 5000 (18:21.23), 10,000 (39:42.75), and in the 3000 Steeplechase (10:53.43).
Also claiming gold for the Crush was sophomore Genevieve Tamondong in the 800 with her winning time of 2:18.02.
Other top-3 showings by the Crush included Magy Marcelo finishing second in the 10,000 (39:50.73) and third in the 5000 (18:40.75) while Crystal Rosales was second in the 400 (56.38).
The Clovis men totaled 11 points to take 17th out of 22 teams at the Northern California Regional Championships.
Vidal Luna led the Crush with his second-place finish in the 5000 meters, clocking in at 15:12.97. Luna also added a seventh-place showing in the 10,000 (34:23.07) with Joaquin McGee right behind him in eighth at 34:42.50.
Edwin Quiroz-Cisneros had Clovis' final top-10 finish, taking ninth in the 1500 with his time of 4:09.50.
Up next for the Clovis track & field squads is the 3C2A State Championships set for May 16-17 at College of San Mateo.
