Crush men finish second, women fifth at Northern California Regionals
FRESNO – The Clovis Community College men's cross country team came up just short in claiming a NorCal title, scoring 62 points for second place while the Crush women totaled 98 points for fifth place at the 2025 Northern California Regional Championships at Woodward Park on Friday.
American River College edged out the host Crush with a team score of 59 points to capture the men's championship.
Freshman Max Jauregui led Clovis with his sixth-place finish as he cleared the four-mile course with his time of 21:15.19. Dylan Devine was up next for the Crush in 11th place at 21:20.13, followed by Davis Bosch in 12th with a time of 21:22.51.
With their top-14 finishes, Jauregui earned first-team All-Northern California Regional honors while Devine and Bosch achieved second-team accolades.
Also scoring for the Crush men were Christopher Barranco in 16th place (21:28.71) and Ivan Barranco (21:33.81). Julio Carrillo was 33rd at 22:12.01 and Alvino Diaz-Lopez rounded out the Clovis men with his 66th-place showing (23:37.38).
In women's action, freshman Nieves Alvarez led the Crush with her 16th-place finish. She completed the 5,000-meters Woodward Park course with her time of 20:07.27. Not too far behind her was Sam Martinez in 19th place at 20:16.28.
Also scoring for the Crush were Lexanna Pedraza in 27th (20:39.02), Liliana Cuevas in 31st (20:47.03), and Arely Ochoa Rosales in 38th (21:03.77). Other finishers for the Clovis women included Amen Grewal (47th, 21:45.27) and Zoe Crumpton (67th, 25:02.53).
Up next for the Crush men and women is the 3C2A State Championships on Nov. 22 at Woodward Park. It marks the third straight race at Woodward Park to close out the season.
