Crush men, women take first place at Modesto Invitational

MODESTO – Two races and two wins for the Clovis Crush men's and women's cross country teams.

On Friday, the Clovis men totaled 48 points to take first place out of nine teams at the Modesto Junior College Pirate Invitational. That effort was matched by the Crush women as they also finished first out of six teams with a score of 45 points.

Ivan Barranco led the Clovis men with his fifth-place individual showing. He cleared the four-mile Tuolumne River Regional Park course with a time of 20:17.2. Right behind him in sixth place was teammate Max Jauregui at 20:23.2.

Davis Bosch and Dylan Devine were up next. Bosch was 10^th at 20:35.9 while Devine took 11^th with his time of 20:35.9. Rounding out the scoring runners for the Crush was Christopher Barranco in 16^th place with a time of 20:40.2.

On the women's side, the Crush were led by Nieves Alvarez and her fourth-place finish. She cleared the Tuolumne River Regional Park 5K course with a time of 19:00.8. She was joined in the top-10 by Sam Martinez in sixth place, clocking in at 19:15.8.

Also earning team points for Clovis were Liliana Cuevas in 15^th place (20.06.8), Olivia Kriehn in 23^rd (21:02.0), and Arely Ochoa Rosales in 24^th (21:03.4).

 Up next for the Crush men and women is the Hartnell College Pink in the Park Invitational. The event is set for Friday, Oct. 3 at Toro Park in Salinas.
