Women's Soccer Come Up Short In First Match Of The Season

In their first match of the season, the Clovis Crush Women's Soccer Team fell 4-0 on the road against the 2016-2017 CCCAA State Runner-up Diablo Valley College. At 0-0 early in the first half, the Crush struck the lower left post on a shot from sophomore captain Elisa Soderholm. The back and forth pace of the game gave way to the first two goals of the match from sophomore midfielder Vanessa Ruvalcaba in the 18th and 23rd minute, both unassisted. 2-0 at the half, the Vikings came out strong to start the second half and got two goals from sophomore forward Noelle Lemos in the 50th and 52nd minute. The game finished at 4-0, with Crush goalies Danielle Cedillo and Kalina Goodarzi each getting a half in goal. The Crush next play Sierra College in their first home match of the season on Tuesday, August 29, 2017 at 5pm.
